* Much like dropping apples and discovering gravity, or flying a kite to discover electricity, it had more to do with being in the right place, at the right time, in with one of the worst migraines I have ever had. I was in front of the television holding my head, and crying from the pain of a 3 week long migraine. The World Series was on, the game being played In Oakland California. Before my very eyes, and millions of other viewers, the stadium started shaking. A 7.1 earthquake had just occurred at 7:05 p.m., affecting San Francisco and the Oakland, California area. October 17th, 1989. At precisely the same time, my migraine headache vanished. I could hardly believe it ! For years, I had noticed that my migraines seem to go away an the same days that I would hear about earthquake activity, or volcanic eruptions. And so, my theory was born and studied. Since that time, I have kept a journal, & have interviewed & followed the experiences of many migrainuers. The theory held true time and time again. The evidence is overwhelming and startling. The majority of those I kept up with for several years or more, do experience most of their migraines in correlation with major seismic activity. Often , we are having migraines at the same time. I feel better knowing there is a logical reason for my migraines. If this information is true for you, maybe it will help you be able to cope with your headaches better, and feet better about yourself. Migraines are not your fault. Example of a visual migraine aura . These visual auras can precede a migraine from 20-30 minutes to several hours. It usually starts with a jerk in the eye, caused by the eye physically adjusting to the rapid earth vibration that has just occurred before detectable seismic activity occurs.
