If you suffer migraines, then you have probably discovered that the long list of foods and drinks, and activities claimed to trigger migraines really don't most of the time. Most migrainuers do have a few absolute triggers, mostly beer, red wine, smoked meats, & cheeses. You know what your's are. Other triggers are fluorescent lights (probably the high frequency noise they emit) & loud sudden echo like noises. Television & movies are full of sudden, unexpected, glaring effects that can be extremely painful for someone with a migraine, and can turn a small short duration migraine into a full blown episode. Flash websites can do the same, and are banned in Australian government websites. I have found that these triggers only effect me long duration if there is upcoming quake activity to match . These things trick the eye with quake like effects, and the noises of some lighting & electrical equipment, such as comuters, mimic the change in the earth's own frequency noises before seismic acitivity. |

New studies show that migraines are not caused by abnormally dilated blood vessels as previously thought, but by a unique disorder of brain cells. Migraine sufferers have abnormally excitable neurons in the brain. New imaging devices show that when a migraine is triggered, these neurons fire electrical impulses that ripple across the brain, then down into the brain stem where they activate the pain centers. Blood flow to the brain surges until the wave passes, then the flow drops shapely. Blood vessels become inflamed by the rapid changes in blood flow and this inflammation combined with the brain stem activation are the causes of migraine pain. More suspected causes of migraines are: too much or too little sleep, hunger, bright lights, certain foods, blood sugar instability, and women's fluctuating estrogen levels. http://www.channel2000.com and http://www.NSPforum.com) Other sensitivities are aged cheese (Romano, parmesan), citrus fruits, fermented foods like olives or canned fish, food additives like MSG and nitrates, red wines, milk products .
